Yoga: The Sun Salutation

The Sun Salutation is the perfect Yoga routine for beginners, and those who want to start their day with a good stretch and awakening of the body and mind. Find yourself an open area, whether inside or out, place a mat or blanket down if you wish, and take your time as you go through this quick and easy pattern of movements design to open up your entire body.

There are numerous videos showing the Sun Salutation. Watch a few different people go through it before trying it yourself. Do not attempt to stretch further than is comfortable. Do not feel the need to hold the positions longer that you are able. Start slow and light and progress as you feel ready. Yoga is meant to help your relax, so do not let it stress you out. You have plenty of time to develop your abilities. Take it slow and enjoy!

There are many different variations of the Sun Salutation, however they all incorporate the same basic postures.
