The Freedom of Food: How To Stop Senate Bill S.510

Permaculture and Backyard Gardening are Under Attack!

The Food Safety Modernization Act would strain a family or home-owner’s ability to grow, eat, sell or trade food from home.  The Bill is an attempt to allow the monopolization of food by corporations such as Monsanto, by adding increased regulation on home food production and allowing international bodies to influence our Nation’s agricultural laws and policies.  Monsanto is a seeds and pesticide company, striving to patent GMO crops that may overtake natural varieties.  The current U.S. Chief Agricultural Negotiator, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, appointed by President Obama, is a former Monsanto lobbyist.

In order to stop this bill we must all write and call our U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives and tell them to vote NO on S.510: The Food Safety Modernization Act.

A quick phone call, even leaving a message, will pressure your Representative to Vote No on S.510.  Follow up with email or a letter delivered by mail.  Call back a few days later to find out their response.
