The solutions to over-population being presented by the main-stream media and establishment organizations such as the Club of Rome and the United Nations are not only short-sighted, uncreative and wrong, but they are reminiscent of the horrific policies conducted by the Nazi Regime in Germany and the Communist Regime currently ruling over China. One-Child Policies, De-Industrialization of the “Western World,” the Institutionalization of Abortion and even more horrific, sterilization of the population through our food and water supplies. Luckily, I paid attention in College and have found even more solution since in my research of various topics, that I can present to you some inspiring solutions to the “problem” of over-population.
Food Shortage, Water, Energy and Pollution
First, let’s address why over-population is seen to be a problem. Most people site the current food crisis, access to clean drinking water, availability of hospitable land and the environmental impact of energy use as the harmful side effects of over-population. We have 8 billion people on the planet, yet, these issues are not the side-effect of over-population, but are instead the bi-product of old-school thought and the exploitive nature of unregulated industry and authoritarian dictatorships around the world.
All of these problems can be solved by a single science: Permaculture. Permaculture is the intelligent use of land to yield higher productivity in food production, using less water and energy than our current methods of agriculture, while localizing food production in order to cut down even more on energy use. With more and more productive “alternative” energy sources becoming readily available, resorting to some sort of Population Control in order to solve these problems is the equivalent to drilling holes in the heads of mentally ill patients. It’s just plain stupid and sadistic.
Exponential Population Growth
I’m amazed at what a 3-unit Geography Course can accomplish. While studying in college I came across an incredibly fact, that the more affluent, industrialized and economically sound a society becomes, the less children families have. While this isn’t always the only cause of decreased population growth, and isn’t a guarantee; it is a norm. People, when they are able to travel and enjoy the finer things in life, tend to hold off on having children until a later age and tend to have less children, if none at all. While this doesn’t mean that you still won’t have large families, the amount of couples who instead have only one, or zero, children by their own choice will compensate for those that have five or six by their own choice. The nature of industrialization stems the “population growth” problem on its own. This is the Taoist Philosophy, that instead of putting all effort into control, by putting effort into science, knowledge and productivity the typical problems of society are solved passively. “When the leaders know the Tao, the people will know Peace.”
If we ensure that our industries become more and more scientifically environmental, and that our food production shifts from our current agriculture system to a smart and resourceful system of Permaculture, then a slow population growth passively created by Industrialization will cause absolutely no harmful impact on our environment.
Shortage of Land
This is absolutely not true. There is no shortage of land, there is in fact an abundance of land left on this planet. While some people may point to the thousands of acres of preserved land as being places that humans can live, we don’t even have to go there. Permaculture has proven that it can turn any barren landscape into a productive and fruitful Garden of Eden without destroying the environmental heritage of the area. In America we have a massive amount of land in the Midwest, in Africa, Australia, the Middle East and Asia there are thousands of acres of land being unused by humans, animals and plants alike.
With a majority of the educated population living compacted in cites, it’s hard for most of us to understand that there is a way for us to spread out and still have access to all the amenities of an industrialized life. Before we attempt to terraform Mars, we should set our sights and terraforming Earth into an actual Garden of Eden that can house not only the 8 billion people currently living on the planet, but much, much more. With the passive slowing of population I previously talked about, our planet Earth, if properly managed by Mankind, can comfortably take care of the human race for centuries to come.
Abortion
Myself, The Free Independent-Sun and Seraf Media will always stand by the Woman’s Right the Choose, and am vehemently Pro-Choice, however, we also understand how harmful abortion can be as a medical procedure, and how the practice has been used by institutions to exterminate “undesirable populations.” Currently in the United States, a manufactured culture of welfare and criminalization of drugs has led the black-population out of the security of family and community, and down a path of aborting nearly half their population before they are even born.
So called “Humanity Organizations” have spread access to abortion throughout the world as a means of solving poverty rather than spreading the education and resources that would empower the people of the world instead of eradicating them. Access to legal abortion is necessary in cases of incest, rape, under-age pregnancies and any situation in which the woman’s life is at risk. Aside from those situations, education is the most effective means at reducing unwanted pregnancies. Access to condoms and birth-control, elementary sex-education and the luxuries of an industrialized life as previously mentioned will reduce the need for the superficial abortions that poke at the sensitivities of the Religious community.
Distribution and Access
Socialist and Communist conspirators tend to blame capitalism for the exploitation of the third world, but this is furthest from the truth. It is not capitalistic to exploit workers in other areas of the world. The definition of capitalism, and the free-market, is that trade is best served when both parties involved are able to set their own agreements with full knowledge of what is going on. It requires freedom, and it prohibits slavery or manipulated trade. When a corporation is able to make deals with dictators in other countries that deny liberties and human rights to their people, they are not practicing capitalism. They are in fact indulging in a form of soft-slavery. By holding American corporations to the actual principles of capitalism, and promoting the concepts of a Constitutional Republic based on unalienable rights, we can, at least from our actions, reduce the exploitation of the third world.
Social and Community organizations are good, yet Socialism and Communism are exploitations of these genuine pursuits to manipulate the working class into another version of serfdom.
Conclusion
I hope that the ideas I have presented can give you, the reader, an concept of how to not only solve the over-population problem, but other problems we as a society face. We must move forward in our thought, and use practical and passive solutions to our problems. By focusing on the good, we as a bi-product, take care of the bad. We must simply have the confidence in our practices that can give us the resolve to move forward.
So in short, the solutions to over-population can be encompassed in these few terms:
Permaculture
Responsible Industrialization
Education
Liberty and Democracy, or, Constitutional Republic
NOTE: This article in no way attempts to diminish the concern that under our current systems population growth can be quite dangerous. It instead attempts to give alternative solutions and quench the fears brought on by institutions which wish only to gain more control over the population and have no real intent of making life on this planet better. While it is obvious that we must make some changes, this article hopes that the changes presented will be preferred by the majority of the population. We should not let fear drive us to short-sighted “solutions.” We have the ability to create a society and culture that will be able to live peacefully and prosperity on this planet for centuries to come, we must simply have confidence in our creativity, our intelligence, and our love.

Population control is one ugly head of first world slavery. Population control is as much a means controlling people as how many people are made. Who has the right to decide who can have children or how many? Look at China. They have a system where only your first child is recognized by the government and has access to social welfare and medical assistance. The way it works is you register your child with the state. If your first child dies you may then register another. This has in more modernized areas led to fewer babies being born, but it has also led to more underground abortions, children being abandoned, and baby girls being killed so the parents can try again to have a boy to register. Is this the type of world we want to live in? And on top of these problems, they still have the greatest population in the world and produce 13% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, a close second to the U.S. at 17%. Doesn’t sound very effective to me. The idea of population control is simply another means at dominating the masses with mind control. First you create a problem, then you work to instill a fear into the minds of the public (fear is the greatest tool of control, for people are least rational about things they fear and look to stronger forces to save them), and finally you use “soft” control by acting genuinely concerned about the issue (which you created) and proposing solutions which are in all actuality further systems of control (which the panicked masses readily accept and latch onto), thereby creeping into every aspect of their lives piece by piece. The result: slow, passive world dominance.
