IRL-RPG stands for “In Real Life Role-Playing Game.” In IRL-RPG, the Player uses their real life accomplishments and abilities to determine what “Level” they are in the Game [of Life]. There is no virtual world, no fantasy setting. The setting for IRL-RPG is Reality itself. The game is a means of self-assessment. It include physical, mental and spiritual health, personal finances and budget, skills and proficiencies, and career/life goals. The Player is encouraged to better themselves so that they may help better the lives of those around them, and better their community.
The Player’s Guide shows the Player how to reach Level 25, in which the Individual becomes a pillar in their community, and has reached a professional, and even teaching, level in their life/career focus. In the game the Player picks a Class, mostly taken from traditional fantasy games (Warrior, Wizard, Bard, etc.). These Classes reflect how the Individual regards themselves in real-life. The point is to draw the same inspiration and motivation that MMO (Online Role-Playing Games) and tradition Table-Top games use to keep Players involved for hours on end. Instead of working toward a virtual goal, IRL-RPG directs Players to work toward real-life goals, like getting in shape, strengthening relationships, getting a job (or starting a business), teaching others, and building a “Party” of other Players.
Future installments will guide the Player toward building a Stronghold, and taking on Apprentices. Eventually, as Players progress to Level 100 (three additional books are planned), they will begin to help build their community, become involved in their City to make it Sustainable, and even work toward uniting with other Players around the world in hopes of bringing Peace and Prosperity to all mankind.
