Yes He Can: Ron Paul Tied 50/50 with President Obama in Recent Poll

Ron Paul would Split Vote with Obama if he wins the Republican Nomination: Harris Poll

As I talk to people at bars, farmer’s markets, through the Internet and in my general life, about the direction our country is heading, once I bring up Ron Paul the majority of people will ultimately agree that he is the best candidate. This has taken a while, and sometimes takes a very educated explanation of his positions. I find the best thing to do is set priorities, especially when people bring up Roe v. Wade, border security, or a number of positions that they (typically liberals, progressives, but even some conservatives) disagree with, as is their right.

War tends to be my focus. Millions of innocent women and children dead. On top of that; stopping corporate welfare, the War on Drugs, the Federal Reserve’s destruction of our economy, and bail-outs to banks tend to get people to listen and admit that their disagreements with Ron Paul’s platform can take a back-seat (and will hopefully be expressed in how they vote for Congress, and State and Local offices). The issues that most Americans agree with Ron Paul on are issues that only a President can lead on, and making this point is important. We want Ron Paul to be President, not King.

With that said, we have come a long way from 2008, when most people we [Ron Paul supporters] would think should be in agreement with us were still following the media’s hype of marginalizing Ron Paul as a extremist and isolationist.

In 2011 (and 2012) we won’t have to worry about that. The media is coming around (realizing that if they continue, they will be the ones that start to sound crazy), public officials are starting to come out and endorse Rep. Paul and his message, and polls are showing that he is coming closer and closer to securing the Republican Nomination. However, one question still comes up, even after the agreement, after the acknowledgement of priority, and after the “we need Ron Paul,” the conversation still comes to this one hurdle, “But he can’t win.” My response, “Yes He Can.”

In a recent poll, Ron Paul (who has always placed in the top of the field amongst Republicans to face President Obama head-to-head) tied President Obama, 50/50, if the general election were held today, with Ron Paul as the Republican Nominee.

“This is a big deal.”

And this is the answer to the last question keeping many people from putting their full support behind Rep. Ron Paul for President in 2012. Yes he can win. The biggest obstacle now in the Ron Paul for President Campaign is the Republican Primary. With the first major event, the Ames Straw Poll, coming up on August 13th.

That is why it is so important to educate people on the fact that against President Obama, Ron Paul can win, and that out of the two-parties, Ron Paul is the only candidate capable of winning that opposes all the Wars over seas, the War on Drugs, the death penalty, the federal reserve, corporate welfare and bailouts, financial support for dictators, the CIA’s clandestine operations, the TSA’s groping, the FBI’s wiretapping and spying on American Citizens, President Obama’s assassination list of American citizens, and the general corruption of government which moves us closer and closer to Imperialism, whether American or Global (U.N., NATO, IMF, World Bank and the WTO).
